Chandrababu Naidu and his cabinet colleagues have no moral right to attend the upcoming Women Parliamentarians’ Conference, unless they tender an unconditional apology to the women as the crime rate has increased by 11 per cent, said YSRCP. It said of the four state ministers charged with atrocities on women in the country, two are from Andhra Pradesh.
“Hosting the Women’s Conference at Vijayawada on February 10, 11 and 12 for women empowerment is a good concept but during the past 2.5 years, women were targeted and harassed by TDP functionaries and ministers and the event would lose its sanctity unless Chandrababu Naidu tenders an unconditional apology to the women,’ Party MLA RK Roja said on Tuesday.
She said Devineni Umamaheshwara Rao and Kinjarapu Atcham Naidu were named among the ministers who targeted women.
“We will attend the Conference and request the delegates to know the facts about Andhra Pradesh and the ruling party,” she said.
