Achal Kumar Joti becomes new Chief Election Commissioner


The former Gujarat chief secretary was appointed as the following CEC on Tuesday succeeding Nasim Zaidi.

The previous Gujarat boss secretary was designated as the following Chief Election Commissioner on Tuesday succeeding Nasim Zaidi.

Joti resigned as the Gujarat Chief Secretary in January 2013. He was additionally the Secretary in the Industry, Revenue and Water Supply Departments in the State.

Joti, a 1975-group Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, had joined the three-part commission as an Election Commissioner on May 8, 2015.
